Integrating social media with our website should be more than just slapping some social media icons on the homepage.
Social Media is an intrinsic part of the User Experience [and] as [user experience] designers we’re terrible at thinking beyond the website.
Users remain consumers of of our content rather than participants in the community that surrounds our products and brands.
People build community with people, not brands.
Calls to follow should not distract from user tasks or business objectives, be placed appropriately, give a reason to follow and be personal.Paul Boag
